Best Games to Play in 2021

Humans’ existence can be very stressful and tiring sometimes, so it is only natural that we develop artificial means to cope with everyday life. One of these coping mechanisms is playing games. Even from a young age, we are taught all kinds of games, create our own universes or step into our friends’ realms. And such it didn’t take long before technology took over gaming. The gaming industry has seen a great rise in popularity over the last decades. We slowly abandoned our toys, our card games and Pokemon nanoblock micro-sized construction blocks for virtual games played on different devices. And 2021 is proving to be one of the best gaming years in history with the potential to actually be the very best until now. Popular titles such as Resident Evil, Far Cry, Hitman, and God of War are all receiving new iterations this year. But which are the most awaited games from our current year?

New Sensation: VALHEIM

Valheim took the internet with a storm. The survival and crafting game has quickly become one of the fan-favorite games. And although survival games might sometimes feel a little boring with all the grinding before you can enjoy it, Valheim lets you enjoy every aspect of it.

In Valheim, players have the opportunity to play as a medieval Viking that has been granted an eternal afterlife by the all-mighty Norse god, Odin. Even the tutorial is presented to you by one of the Odin messages, a raven. The raven will teach you all the aspects of the game, from basic farming, to combat, terraforming, crafting, and how to defeat raid bosses. Make sure you go through the tutorial as deep as you can, as it is an important part of the game and without fully acknowledging it you can’t go very far into the game.

Of course, as in all games, Valheim is not bug-free. Being a BETA version means that you will most likely stumble upon minor bugs, but not that big of a deal to steer your gaming experience. When it comes to mechanics, the game won’t prove much of a challenge like other survival games are. The game itself is created in such a way that you will have fun while you do the basic things such as repairing tools, gathering food or making new expansions. Some players might find building a little too complicated, but the game lets you select from either placing a free-place wood or snap wood pieces together. One important feature is that you can toggle on/off your PvP status, so you don’t have to worry about other players ruining your day. The last thing to say about this game is that the community is very wholesome and helpful, players enjoying helping those in need.

Loop Hero

While I was browsing through Twitch, I stumbled upon a streamer that played an interesting-looking game. It had graphics that felt ancient with nowadays standards but the streamer had so much fun while playing it that it aroused my curiosity.

Loop Hero is classified as a strategy game, and the gamer’s goal is to make sure that it creates the best environment for the hero, as you won’t be able to directly control him. You also have to level up the hero’s abilities and suit him with the best weapons available. The game setting is a post-apocalyptic world, and everyone seems to have their memory erased. The hero is bound to travel in a loop (that’s why the title is Loop Hero), having to fight various creatures and humanoids. The hero fights them until he dies or until you put him to rest in a camp. After completing a loop your hero’s health will heal for a percentage of the damage you’ve taken. Hero also gains levels and drops after each enemy is defeated. The game brings something new to the gaming, players are required to pay more attention to the actual map than to the hero itself.

Hitman 3

Maybe one of the most popular franchises from the gaming industry, Hitman, is back again with a brand new version in 2021. The game was released on 20th January by IO Interactive company. The game, as most of you know, is focused around a bald assassin, and it is the earth installment of the Hitman Series. In the game, you will play as the genetically engineered Agent 47, who hunts down Providence together with his allies.

When it comes to gameplay, the game itself is a stealth game that is played from a third-person point of view. Agent 47 will travel to various locations and take out some of the world’s cruelest individuals. The sequel focuses on new locations such as Dartmoor, Dubai, Chongqing, Berlin, and Mendoza. Agent 47 will also travel to Romania, into the Carpathian Mountains for the epilogue. The story itself is also an exciting one, which will not let the players get bored.

The games from above are only a few of the hundreds of games that were and will be released this year. Gamers have the opportunity to choose from all ranges of genres from the pool of 2021 games. This year is making sure that everybody will find a game suitable for them.
